Dennis,
Thanks so much for providing this script. It is a much more efficient tool for finding particular details than going through the DVD. This file can be "text searched" to quickly find items.
Now for the comments.
I LOVED IT!!!! I am an engineer by trade and part of my job is writing internal process sheets for production. I also write internal procedure manuals and interpret aerospace specifications. I thought the context was excellent and Bob's ability to convey the correct message was accurate and to the point, just the way guys like it!! Not a bunch of fluff and wasted motion. Please do keep this format throughout the series.
One comment in general - There was only one thing that jumped out at me during this DVD. In the beginning, when showing the tools needed for the job it is mentioned that a 1/4" 12 point deep well socket is needed for replacing the brake disc pads. During the brake maintenance section, this "special" tool was not called out as being necessary nor was it mentioned why. I could SEE that you were using this tool, but I think it is important that this be stated in this section to avoid rounding out the bolt heads holding in the disc pads.
That's about it. Good Job! I'm recommending it to all my friends

Dennis,
I just received the Touring Edition DVD. I watched almost the whole disk last night and am very pleased with it. I will be promoting your DVD's at our chapter meetings. Thanks again.

Hello Dennis,
Received the DVD yesterday. Very Impressive! On my way to dealership to get the brake light module to install. Bob makes everything looks so easy. Another good job. Can't wait for the Sportster DVD!!

Hey Guys,
I just received my DVD on the touring models. You did a great job. I have a Dyna Superglide and now I remember why I got rid of my old FLH. Way too much crap to take off to do normal maintenance. One of my friends had the fork oil changed in his touring rig and it cost him over $300. Now that I see what it takes, that's probably a bargain..? I probably would still do it myself if I had one but I know it's quite a bit simpler with a dyna model. Will you be coming out with any other DVD's on other models soon. I did notice a couple differences between the touring rigs and my dyna, I.e. primary drain and belt adjustment and I'm sure there are a few others that I just didn't catch on the preview. We still have a foot and a half of snow on the ground here in northern Michigan so I'm not too concerned about the riding just yet.
Thanks, by the way, for contacting me to let me know the DVD was on it's way.

Dennis,
I received my DVDs yesterday afternoon. I haven't watched the DVDs from front to back yet but I did spend some time shuffling through the menu...I watched you remove the outer fairing, some of the service procedures for fluids, remove rear wheel, and your dissertation on the old versus new clutch packs.
I'm an electrician by trade and a shade tree MC mechanic as a hobby. I've ridden and wrenched on motorcycles for almost 35 years now. I just purchased a 2005 FLHTC with sidecar. As I was waiting for my new rig to arrive I stumbled onto your fix-my-hog site, took a look at your Softail edition and got on the list for your Touring DVDs. I must say, you have done an excellent job with this venture. I am more than impressed. The "little things" you do by habit (i.e.: always wiping off removed parts before setting them down, wrapping calipers in towels & rubber bands, actually using torque wrenches instead of "that's good enough", thoroughly protecting painted surfaces, etc.) show you have & promote good work practices.
Normal maintenance procedures are within the realm of many rider's capabilities. If they have a shop manual, your video can not only enlighten the shop manual verbiage but also teach some good work practices. I'm not "anti" dealer, but because of the sloppy/borderline reckless attitudes that seem to be prevalent in most service departments, nobody works on my rides but me. There are a lot of mechanically inclined HD owners who need just a little encouragement and "something to see" (like your DVDs) before they undertake their own maintenance. They can more than recoup their investment in your DVD in one fluids service - and do a better job of it too. You've a giant market out there, keep up the good work. I wish you much success.
Thank you, Gaylord – Morrow, OH

Dennis,
Thank-you for providing such a clear concise DVD. Even I could completely understand it and follow it. You've saved a lot of people a lot of money and I know I'll be willing to keep my bike in much better condition thanks to your simple explanation of not only how to do it, but why it's done, nice touch.
Thanks again,
Fred – Muskegon, MI

Dennis,
As a Harley owner first let me say your new touring edition covers it all. I have done my own wrenching on my 99 FXD since the beginning but had to learn on my own. Now with my 2004 Ultra I have just as much, if not more, confidence that I can handle all the maintenance thanks to the new touring edition. As a retired Industrial Education teacher, (35 yrs.), I am very much aware of the need to present your material in a step-by-step fashion so as to make the presentation meaningful. The format and delivery of the material presented has all the qualities of an A+ lesson. Thanks again.

Dennis,
I just received my two disc set of the touring video. It is one of the best "how to" videos I've seen. Bob does a great job of explaining in great detail and plain language the procedures he is doing. Mark makes the work look easy. Watching him do the work while he talks through it should make the beginner as well the more experienced do it your selfer more confident working on their bike. I am very pleased I got this DVD. I'm sure it will help me doing some of the work on my '2001 Road King…
Thank you and your staff for doing such a fine job with all the Fix My Hog videos.
Sincerely,
