Oil Leaking 2005 Fat Boy

I have a carbureted 2005 88cu Fat Boy with 18000 miles on it. The other day, I let it idle in my drive way and oil started leaking out around the dip stick. It does this every so often, but really noticeable the other day when it was cold down here and the bike was warming up. The oil when warm is not too full!  Any suggestions?  The oil is synthetic.

Scott,    Many of the twin cam engines sump as did the early Evo models. The difference is the Evos would pump out the external breather and the T/C returns this oil up high on the dipstick passage. Not to worry, maybe buy a new, tight fitting, dipstick. When the weather is cooler, run the oil a little bit lower than usual. Who is to say what hot is according to the dip stick, New England hot is not Florida hot.    Wrench Safe, FMH

My 2017 Ultra limited is leaking oil from the transmission into the primary case. What is causing it and what can be done to correct it?

Good advice. Up here in Northern Alberta ( where it is 12 below zero right now) we have the same problem with small gasoline engines and Diesel stationary engines.
