Daymaker Headlights

Question for Fix My Hog Hi, I just installed Daymaker headlights, and after about 15 min of riding the fuse for the headlights blew. This seems to be one of the common Harley Davidson headlight problems but I can not seem to find a solution. I don’t want to go back to the original if I can avoid it. Any ideas? Hope you get back to me soon, Going to Americade, on June 8th, a 4 hour ride for me and really need to solve this. Thanks!

Fix My Hog Answers See if it is possible to run the Daymaker headlamp on high & low beam without passing lamps illuminated. If you can run this way without blowing a fuse, we would recommend moving the passing lamps to another circuit, or an added circuit.

Add a relay will fix all problems. That way the circuit your using will only operate the relay, and use a heavier wire to go to the relay to power the lights straight from the battery with a inline fuse
