It makes no sense to me for you to have drained the primary and then removed both covers. You state in the video that you remove them to help it drain and vent but you have already drained it. You don’t need both covers removed to add the oil back into the primary.
Hi Richard, Thank you for the feedback. You are correct. You do not have
to do it the way Bob and Mark show it. Simple tips on how they do it.
There is no one way to do something correct. Doing something correct is
doing it right with the proper outcome. The drain plug is still out and
the fluid can still flow. We are also doing clutch adjustment and
primary chain adjustment so the covers need to come off anyway. Do what works best for you. We also recommend that viewers view all the videos step by step so you can see how the full service flows. We also made a video index to help follow along. /video-index-harley-davidson-softail-dyna-maintenance-videos/ Any questions please feel free to contact us at info@fixmyhog.com
Could you please let me know where from I can purchase the following:-
1) Engine oil drain plug O-RING
2) Transmission oil drain plug O-RING
3) Primary drain plug O-RING
4) Clutch inspection cover gasket or seal
I am from India and these O-Rings and gaskets are not easily available here. Is there an online store or a Harley dealer in US from whom I can purchase these parts?
Thanks.
HI K, Have you tried DennisKirk.com?
Dennis Santopietro , you need a friend in the USA , have them send you the parts.
