When it comes to re-seating the check ball, we use a bearing that has been attached/welded to a welding rod. This enables you to work the bearing back & forth with lapping compound.
Better to do this with the pump removed. Especially for cleaning purposes.
If sumping continues after this; the pump will need to be replaced.
We suggest an S&S oil pump.

Not always true. Ever replace a pump on a Flhtcu ? You HAVE to remove primary inner and outer engine mounts as well or you CANT replace the shaft.
