I figured it out myself and rebuilt the rear master cylinder. The toughest part was finding a way to compress the outer spring in order to snap in the C-clamp. I used a hole in a street sign post that was big enough for the shaft, but narrow enough to compress the spring then with the spring compressed I was ready with a needle nose to grab and hold it while I snapped in. But it didn’t fix the problem. There is a guy on YouTube with the same symptoms and in his case it was defective ABS model–an $800 part. Well I’m not going to pay $800 for a block of aluminum so I’m looking for instructions on by-passing the ABS. I WILL NEVER BUY A BIKE WITH ABS AGAIN.

Dale,

You will need to use your test light or multimeter to correctly diagnose.
The issue can be in the taillight socket.
Start at the taillight socket and make your way forward.
