Engine fault diagnosis show ECM Y, ABS N, Speedo Y, Sec Y…. which according P1097 states a speed sensor serial data fault…. I agree with your above statement the speed sensor may be dirty, iron filings etc, etc… where do I find it on the Revolution X engine please so I take it off and clean it? Many thanks for your answers Brothers

I had the same issue so I pulled the speed sensor, wiped it off and put it back in, pushed it out of the garage and tried to start it, but it just clicked. So I put it in gear, pushed it about a foot and tried to start it again and now it won’t even click. What do I do now?

Hello Pete,

Thank you for contacting us.

The speed sensor on your 2000 FLSTC is located behind the right rear corner of the transmission top cover.
You can get a good view of it’s location at 4:20 in this video.

Not sure what digital speedometer you are trying to install.
You likely need to power & ground the assembly for its backlight. The vehicle speed sensor’s circuit needs to be separate.
Stock speedometer sensor wires:
Red – 12V
Black – Gnd
White – “sensor”
Make sure you did not blow a fuse.
