Hi, Tom. No. The piston should be able to be pressed in by hand, or with your thumbs. Try using a Scotch pad or a ball hone to clean up the caliper bore.

Hi, William. Check your charging system. A grounded stator will make a motorcycle run terribly. It is possible that you have a bad ECM.

Make sure you are using premium fuel.
Suggest using a Power Commander, a Vance & Hines FP3, or a Power Vision tuner. If you already have a tuner, you may need to modify your tune/map.
