Duration:   24  mins

In this GOLD Member video, Steve Knoble begins the reassembly of the S&S T124 engine. He covers reassembly tips and tricks in detail, and gives an up-close look at how the engine goes together and how the engine works. First, Steve puts the main engine case back together and torques the hardware to spec. Next, he assembles the cam chest and explains how to time the cam gears. This is an ultra-important step because you do not want the valves colliding with the pistons. Once the cam chest is assembled, he moves on to the hydraulic lifters and lifter block covers. He covers proper installation of the lifters and explains the parts that keep the lifters aligned with the cam lobes. Throughout the video, Steve covers the torque specs and torque patterns for engine assembly. This is crucial to having a properly functioning engine with a long life.

This video is part of a two-part series that covers the disassembly of the engine, how the engine works, and the entire engine building process. Be sure and check out part two, and all the other great GOLD Member videos that Fix My hog has to offer.
