This was my son’s bike, he passed away in 2002 from an incurable/treatable form of sarcoma cancer. He bought this bike about a year before he passed. His widow kept in in the garage under cover until she decided that it needed to be used again. I told her that if she ever decided to sell it I wanted first shot……it is now mine. This is just the way he left it, entirely stock and with all the limited edition features and flashy stuff. It would not start when I got it, had been sitting for over a decade with no gas treatments or preventive maintenance. It took a simple – not so simple for me however – carb rebuild and some new spark plugs, a new rear tire…..mounted at the original dealer, Southside Harley Davidson of Indianapolis, a very kind and compassionate family owned and operated dealership.

Hello everyone! Here is my baby. The bike is not too bad either. Seriously though she is a friend. My girl started out as a 2002 Fat Boy with beautiful pearl white paint. I stripped it to the bones and started spending money, lots of money. I guess that is a given. Wanted something that looked like it was from the 60’s and I think I did not too bad of a job. Tail dragger fenders covering thick spoke wheels with black powder coated rims and the 21 inch on the front really added to the look. New Commander II rubber finished the wheels. (I get nearly twice the miles from these tires than any other tire I have tried and I have used all the brands over the years) I put stretched tanks on as well to give it that old look I was after. The custom built apes with the Arlen Ness mirrors really makes for a comfortable ride. Old school grips look great and totally eliminate any numbness in the hands even after a long ride. I blacked nearly everything out as you can see. Was not sure about the fish tails in chrome until they were on. One look and that was it. No passenger pegs but have all the quick attach seat and back rest if I ever need it. Took out the factory 5 speed gears and replaced them with a Revtec 6 speed. I left the 88 inch in it so the extra gear really makes a difference. The color is Gunmetal Blue with several coats of clear. I still have a round oil bucket to install to complete the look. I also have a set of passing lamps in black that I am trying to decide on. Not sure so an opinion or two would really be appreciated. I finished the look with LED bullet signals on the front and LED signals built into the rear of the struts. The back end is finished with a really cool plate holder and LED tail and stop light. I took the bike to a couple of large shows in Vancouver and Vancouver Island the day after it was complete last fall. Did pretty well with one first place in the Custom category at each show and took the People’s Choice Award at both shows. She turns quite a few heads and the bike gets the odd look too, Ha Ha Thanks for letting me brag. It was a blast to build. I slammed it 2 inches and it has to be the smoothest ride ever. Thanks

My grandson loves to be around my motorcycles. He told me he wants to fix my bike. As he was walking around the bikes he was telling me, that’s broke, that’s broke, and that’s very broke. What more could a grandfather ask for? Big Norm

Here’s a pic of Big Red, did the cam shoes and just put on that sweet V&H pro pipe! Just want to say Fix My Hog is awesome! I get a lot of satisfaction doing this work myself and the videos help so much. Had a hard time finding information on when to change newer cam chain tensioners shoes. See pics, they were due, outer was good but inner was another story. My bike is an ’09 FLHTC with 78,311 km, 48,670 miles. Wanted to share for other members.
When people ask who did the work on my bike I always say, FMH and me!

Hi, Fix My Hog was a valuable asset when I took on the task of changing my paint set, removing front and rear wheels, for tires. Always take Bob LaRosa’s “clean as you go” tips very seriously. He is a fantastic speaker and tells it like it is. Enclosed are two pictures of my bike. 2007 HD Fatboy, with the new numbered paint set. The other picture is the bike stripped.

Hi and good morning from Bulgaria, I emigrated here from the UK last year and missed my Bagger (FLHR) so much that I went on the hunt for its replacement. The is a 2014 FXSB model which in the Sofia Dealership had 1km on the clock, it was bought in 2014 by a wealthy businessman for his 65 year old’s partners birthday. Unfortunately the guy hasn’t a license to ride so it laid up till I got my hands on it. There’s a hell of a lot more Kilometers on it now.

I have been riding since I was 16. My first Harley was a chromed out frame and all ’61 Sportster. A thing of beauty. My second ride was a Honda 750 need I say more. But my third and forth rides after a house, kids, and retirement was a 06 Harley Deuce. But I needed something a little lower and easier to ride which is my present ride a 15 Heritage Classic.

Hi, I’m no stranger to wrenching, having owned more than 60 bikes, 12 of them Harleys. Have rebuilt, repaired, and even painted many bikes from 2cyl to 6cyl over the years. I joined this website out of interest more than anything. My current ride is a 2011 Rocker C, with lots of chrome extras, heavy breather, Vance and Hines exhaust, and Danny Gray seat. Also have a Bitchin seat, but don’t use it now.

Dennis, I do enjoy you company very much. People don’t call me Mr. Goodwrench for nothing. I break more things working on projects at home and loose more money trying to fix things on my own. My brother in law is a very accomplished mechanic retired out of one of the local city township. Most of my friends say just take it to your brother in law and save yourself some money. I’m hard headed and would rather learn than just bother him or drop a bundle at the dealer. I’ve been buying all your DVDs. I’m learning but a lot of the time I see jobs I’ve done and I think I should take a lot of it back apart and fix it your way. My way worked but I could of saved a lot of time and frustration. I have 18 of your DVDs but haven’t joined your membership. Not to smart but I’m learning and I did pick up all the service manuals to use with the DVDs. Keep up the good work. I have three Harleys and I like keeping the maintenance up. Nobody likes breakdowns especially the princes. Thanks, Tom in KC

This is my 2007 Road King Classic. Bought it used a few months ago at the end of the 2015 season. The bike was in great physical condition but needed some TLC in the maintenance and performance departments. I started looking for service manuals and upgrade ideas on the internet and found Fix My Hog. I watched a few of the free videos and found them detailed, informative, easy to understand, and follow. Now that I am a full Premium Member I have access to the entire site and all the information available. I had motorcycles in high school and shortly after graduating had to sell them and focus on adult life. After 40+ years of not owning a bike I made an impulsive purchase in the spring of 2014 on a Honda Shadow. Only had that bike for a month and a half and found out what I had been missing all those years. Traded it for a used 2002 Road King Classic and really fell in love. We put 11000 combined miles on the Honda and Road King in the 2014 riding season. I now own both the 2002 Road King Classic and this 2007 Road King Classic. I use the information on the Fix My Hog website frequently to keep these bikes performing their best.
